Day 21: Independence | Devotional BELIEVE21

Day 21: independence

Do you know why Christians don’t pray more than we do? Because too many of us are too self-sufficient. We don’t feel like we need God, until an emergency pops up. The Christians in Sardis were educated, affluent and at ease. As a result, they relied too heavily on themselves and became blind to the enemy’s surprise attacks.

Day 20: Things are Certainly Not Always as They Appear | Devotional BELIEVE21

Day 20: Things are Certainly Not Always as They Appear

A man was visiting his neighbor’s pig farm one day when he noticed something unusual about one of the pigs. It seemed to have a limp as it walked. So the man moved closer to get a better view and when he did, he saw that the pig had a prosthetic leg on.

Day 19: If you are a Christian | Devotional BELIEVE21

Day 19: If you   are a Christian

if you’ve repented of your sin and placed your faith in Jesus Christ to receive his sinless life, sacrificial death, and glorious resurrection for your own—you are forgiven and free and you are fellowshiping with God. Right now. Right this very second you are enjoying God’s presence, closer than the hair on your head and the skin on your bones.

Day 18: God is Love | Devotional BELIEVE21

Day 18: God is Love

The love of God is the most precious thing any person could ever know. It will sustain you like nothing else can and when nothing else will. It will encourage you through the darkest moments of your life. The love of God was put on you, child of God, before the world was even created, and it will carry you through your dying day and into the blissful joy of eternal reunion with the very source of love himself.

Day 17: God’s voice | Devotional BELIEVE21

Day 17: God’s voice

Perhaps the primary reason that in times of difficulty or loneliness we think of God as being silent is because we equate “God’s voice” with material blessings, physical comfort, and happy feelings. When good things are happening, we are rarely troubled by God’s silence, even if we never talk to him ourselves or read his Word.

Day 16: What do you do when you feel like God isn’t speaking to you? | Devotional BELIEVE21

Day 16: What do you do when you feel like God isn’t speaking to you?

We must remember in these painful moments (and seasons) of life that our relationship with God isn’t identical to our relationships with other people. There’s the issue of visibility, of course.

Day 15: Friends of God | Devotional BELIEVE21

Day 15: Friends of God

This crucial truth makes the phrase "Christian life in the power of the Spirit"; essentially redundant. The Holy Spirit causes the process that Jesus referred to as "being born again,"; and the Holy Spirit seals those who are born again to ensure they stand blameless before God at the end of their days, and the Holy Spirit sustains those who are born again every millisecond between those two moments.

Day 14: God's Heart Doesn't Stop With Us | Devotional BELIEVE21

Day 14: God's Heart Doesn't Stop With Us

Scripture:  “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.” 1 John 4:7

As wonderful and life-giving as it is to access the heart of God for ourselves, having God’s heart isn’t meant to stop with us.

Day 13: A Foundation Of Affection | Devotional BELIEVE21

Day 13: A Foundation Of Affection

Scripture: “So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:17-19

Day 12: Revelation Through Others | Devotional BELIEVE21

Day 12: Revelation

Scripture:  “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10

One of the chief ways God reveals his heart to us is revelation through fellow believers.

Day 11: The Spirit | Devotional BELIEVE21

Day 11: The Spirit

Scripture: “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.” John 16:13

The Holy Spirit dwelling inside of us as believers is our gateway to the heart of God. It’s through him that we can know the thoughts, emotions, and will of the Father.

Day 10: The Word | Devotional BELIEVE21

Day 10: The Word

Scripture: “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12

Scripture is one of the best indications we have of God’s intense longing to be known by his people. Every time we open up the Bible we are looking at a miracle.
